Assignments may include support to Ministries of Health and implementing partners in areas such as financial oversight, programme monitoring, procurement and supply chain management, and strengthening accountability mechanisms.
Job description
The Accredited Auditor will support the team in the execution of the overall responsibilities of the assignment. The main (but not only) responsibilities are the following:
- Conduct financial reviews and audits of programme expenditures related to Gavi-supported activities
- Assess compliance with donor financial management and reporting requirements
- Review financial documentation and supporting evidence for expenditures
- Evaluate the adequacy of financial management and internal control systems
- Contribute to the preparation of audit findings and recommendations
Qualifications
The Accredited Auditor will be required to possess the following qualifications and professional experience:
- Professional audit certification (e.g. CPA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent)
- At least five years of professional experience in auditing financial statements or donor-funded programmes
- Proven experience applying international auditing standards (ISA)
- Experience working with international donors or public sector programmes
- Experience in Sudan and or Ethiopia is required
- Fluency in written and spoken English is required
