Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, supports low- and middle-income countries in strengthening their immunization systems and improving access to life-saving vaccines. Under the Technical Assistance and Capacity Building (Lot 2) mechanism, specialized expertise is mobilized to support governments and partners in strengthening programme management, financial management, governance, and implementation capacity of immunization programmes.
Assignments may include support to Ministries of Health and implementing partners in areas such as financial oversight, programme monitoring, procurement and supply chain management, and strengthening accountability mechanisms.
Job description
The Accounting Software Specialist will support the team in the execution of the overall responsibilities of the assignment. The main (but not only) responsibilities are the following:
- Review accounting software and financial management systems used by implementing entities
- Assess the reliability and integrity of financial data and reporting systems
- Analyze system configurations, user access rights, and data management procedures
- Identify weaknesses in financial information systems that could affect transparency and accountability
- Provide recommendations for improving financial information system controls and data management practices
Qualifications
The Accounting Software Specialist will be required to possess the following qualifications and professional experience:
- A Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Information Systems, Finance, or another relevant discipline
- At least five years of experience working with accounting or financial management software systems
- Demonstrated experience in financial information systems used in donor-funded programmes
- Strong understanding of financial data controls and system governance
- Experience in Sudan and or Ethiopia is required
- Fluency in written and spoken English is required
