Burkina Faso: Construction of the public primary school Loungo

Posted on 2 Nov, 2015 by GFA

In October 2015, GFA Bridges approved the primary school construction in Loungo in the Passoré Province, north-west of Ouagadougo. The construction was delayed due to the insecure situation in Burkina Faso. Recently, the community confirmed to be able to implement the project. The project will create an enabling environment for about 175 students by improving their learning conditions. The school with three class rooms will be owned by the community. The Association of Parents will be responsible for maintaining the infrastructure and support the project by collecting funds and contributing manpower during the construction. All required material purchases are funded by GFA Bridges. The Association of Parents convinced the Ministry of Basic Education to provide the required tables and benches.

This project is supported by Denis Zoungrana, the national GFA water and sanitation consultant in Burkina Faso who supported his community with grants from Caritas, the EU and others.
