Cameroon: Support of the Ivoirian immigrants
Members of the Association of Ivorians in Cameroon have diverse backgrounds. Some settled as craftsmen in Cameroon to earn their living and others are just passing through the country with Angola, Gabon or Equatorial Guinea as their final destination for work in the oil fields. The objective of the association is to strengthen the solidarity and fraternity among the Ivorian community, to improve living conditions and cultural identity, and to provide advice. The association maintains a center in Yaoundé, the capital city of the country, where all activities take place. GFA finances the purchase of furniture for a dormitory hosting about 25 persons and a kitchen as well as accessories for the cultural programs. Theatre performances will be presented in Yaoundé and Douala.
This project is supported by Pascal Cuny, GFA team leader of the Sangha Tri-National Trust Fund in Cameroon and his wife Fatoumata Cuny-Coulibaly, honorable president of the Association of Ivorians in Cameroon.
