Cycling campaign raises funds for Climate Village Lab in Zambia

Posted on 25 Sep, 2025 by Christoph Rasch

The Climate Village Lab project, supported by GFA Consulting Group and run by German NGO “GEO schützt den Regenwald” (GEO Protects the Rainforest), has received a welcome boost in do-nations: a total of €7,600 was raised last weekend by the “Charity Ride 2025”.
During the 355 km charity ride between Hamburg and the Baltic Sea, organised by Hamburg-based energy provider Lichtblick, participants from various companies solicited voluntary donations for the project within their networks.
The aim of the ‘Climate Village Lab’, which is supported by German Nobel Prize winner in physics Prof. Dr. Klaus Hasselmann, is to reduce CO2 emissions in three Zambian villages and to strengthen nature and sustainability locally. GFA Consulting Group has been supporting the project with its technical expertise since last year.
