DELEGATION OF MINISTRY OF ECONOMY, PLANNING AND REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT (MINEPAT) OF CAMEROON VISITS GFA

Posted on 3 Jul, 2026 by Constanze Schaaff

The high-level representatives of MINEPAT Cameroon obtained an overview of GFA’s Cameroon portfolio across different sectors. MINEPAT coordinates the implementation of many GFA projects in Cameroon.

GFA welcomed the Director of Foresight and Strategic Planning, as well as the Head of the Economical Forecasting Unit at the MINEPAT of Cameroon at the GFA headquarters. The high-level delegates were in Hamburg for the Hamburg Sustainability Conference and took the opportunity to visit GFA accompanied by our GFA Project team of the Grand Mbam projects in Cameroon.

GFA’s managing directors provided an overview on GFA Group’s activities worldwide, while staff from ANRE, Governance, Health and Private Sector, Skills and Employment presented GFA’s Cameroon portfolio to the honourable guests.

With great interest the delegation learnt about the 12 ongoing projects of GFA in Cameroon. MINEPAT and GFA stressed their excellent cooperation on the ongoing projects.

Earlier this month, GFA’s new managing director Christian Dürr and ANRE’s department director Constanze Schaaff, visited Cameroon together with the Backstopper Manon Lamour. The department has just recently started new projects under the overall coordination of MINEPAT financed by KfW as well as the Central African Forest Initiative.

PGIP-GM & AGiPaF (“Grand Mbam projects”) are two independent projects aiming at the same goal: the protection of forest landscapes, while promoting sustainable rural development in line with local land use planning. The aim of both projects is to design and implement, on a decentralised scale, replicable approaches to integrated land use planning, with an emphasis on sustainable management of forests and protected areas for the benefit of local stakeholders. They also aim to lay the foundations for effective inter-sectoral coordination and rigorous monitoring for the implementation of a Payment of Payment for Ecosystem Services mechanism.

Both MINEPAT And GFA are looking forward to a fruitful and successful implementation!
