Development assistance specialists pool their strengths in Switzerland

Posted on 10 Jul, 2014 by Klaus Altemeier

In times to come, an international network of experts on development assistance at newly founded GFA Entec will coordinate a variety of consulting and project management services from Switzerland. The company offers developing countries, government and non-government organizations comprehensive support with complex issues. The services focus on socially relevant topics such as renewable energies, climate change impacts, natural and mineral resources including mining, economic development or health care.

The start-up of GFA Entec on 23 June, 2014 goes back to a German-Swiss joint venture of three companies active in international development assistance: the Hamburg-based GFA Consulting Group, the operational division of St.Galler Entec, and Projekt-Consult from Germany. Ownership in Projekt-Consult has changed but the firm intends to maintain its market presence with a steady personnel structure. As the three companies have cooperated with each other for years, the smooth continuation of ongoing projects is safeguarded. Specialists in international development assistance involved in the newly established company can now pool diverse consulting and project management services in St.Gallen.

International networking with experts
GFA Entec offers its specialized services predominantly to developing countries, government and non-government organizations. In the future, these clients can all benefit from an outstanding international networking with experienced experts for development assistance.

Strong partner of GFA Entec
The owner of the newly established company and the driving force behind the reorganization is the GFA Consulting Group. The Hamburg-based parent company has implemented numerous projects and studies in over 130 countries since 1982. At around 1,100 employees worldwide, GFA is a major player in international development assistance. This alliance allows the newly established GFA Entec in St.Gallen to draw on extensive consulting resources. Klaus Altemeier is legally responsible as a member of the management board and as director of the governing board.
