Last week, Christian Dürr, the new Managing Director of GFA Consulting Group and GFA Holding visited the GFA East Africa Hub in Nairobi, Kenya. He met the team, engaged with local partners, and visited ongoing project sites. Eva Schildbach, Director of the GFA Health Department was in Nairobi for a health sector gathering, and also joined the Hub team session.

The GFA East Africa Hub, which is based in Nairobi, works with clients including GIZ, KfW and the European Union, and other bilateral and multilateral partners - spanning digital innovation, the green transition, governance, and MSME development.

The visit began with a working session with the entire team at the Kenya offices, during which Christian Dürr discussed the Hub's current project portfolio, strategic direction, and the opportunities and challenges of operating in East Africa. The session had a welcome addition: Eva Schildbach joined the meeting, bringing a valuable cross-sectoral GROUP perspective to the conversation.

Christian and the team also visited project sites in Nairobi to gain direct insight into implementation on the ground. These included a meeting with a partner at a local innovation and training centre and an in-person conversation with an MSME beneficiary supported through one of GFA's active assignments, offering a first-hand view of the human impact of our work in the region.

"Visiting the East Africa Hub and seeing the team's work on the ground was both energising and insightful," said Christian Dürr. "The quality of our partnerships and the depth of expertise of this team position GFA very well for continued growth and impact across East Africa." The Hub team looks forward to building on the momentum from this visit in the months ahead.
