EU Forest for the Future Facility

GFA, in a consortium together with Particip GmbH as lead, Indufor Oy, Oréade-Brèche Environnement & Développement and Prospect C&S SA has been awarded the EU contract “Forest for the Future Facility – F4”.

The EuropeAid 9 million EUR contract started in mid-January 2020. During the four-year implementation period, the consortium will establish and manage the Forest for the Future Facility (F4) which will provide technical support to the European Commission (both in Brussels and abroad) and partner countries to ensure sustainable forest management, reduce deforestation/forest degradation, promote sustainable investments and decent jobs in partner countries. So the project will contribute to effective implementation of forest-related commitments, in particular in the framework of the SDGs, Paris Agreement and New York Declaration on Forests.

The beneficiaries will be the countries engaged in a Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade (FLEGT) process in South-East Asia, Central and West Africa, Caribbean and Latin America as well as developing countries with high deforestation risks. With over 30 years of experience implementing projects in the field of natural resources protection and sustainable forest management worldwide, GFA has developed solid technical expertise and can rely on our extensive network of highly specialised experts in all regions covered.
