GFA SEE CELEBRATED 10 YEARS OF SUCCESSFUL ENERGY PROJECTS IN SOUTHEASTERN EUROPE

On October 26, GFA South East Europe (GFA SEE), a subsidiary of GFA, celebrated its 10th anniversary at the Barrel House in Belgrade. In the presence of government representatives, donor community, experts and colleagues from GFA Consulting Group, the event featured a panel discussion on the social aspects of green transition.

The panel included guest experts from Croatia, Slovenia and Netherlends who shared their experiences and provided inspiration for climate action and the work ahead: Sandra Vlašić, executive director and co-founder of the NGO Terra Hub from Croatia, highlighted the importance of communication and awareness raising in driving behavioral change among citizens in response to climate change. Anamari Majdandžić, Senior Expert at DOOR NGO, involved in the work of the EU Energy Poverty Advisory Hub, elaborated on the issue of energy poverty. Martijn Kramer, project manager at Platform31, shared the experience of heat transition at local level in the Netherlands, in particular in piloting the Gas Free Neighborhood approach, and Martin Šikovc, head of the Zasavje Just Transition Center, shared the experiences of the Zasavlje coal mining region in Slovenia and its path towards just transition and support from the EU Just Transition Mechanism.

The event was moderated by Dejan Stojanović, an experienced sustainable energy expert from Serbia. The panel discussion was followed by an informal get-together with food and drinks.
