PROMOTING THE DEVELOPMENT OF A HYDROGEN ECONOMY IN SOUTH AFRICA - PROJECT STUDY PUBLISHED

The activities of the GIZ project "Promoting the development of a hydrogeneconomy in South Africa - Renewable H2market potential and value chain analysis", were focused on an improvement of the conditions for companies to participate in a South African green hydrogen economy, generating and improving information about the renewable H2 market potential for South Africa and assessing most feasible applications in different time horizons.
The project team developed comprehensive deliverables, including:
- Competitiveness analysis between GH2/PtX and their fossil fuel- and renewable- based alternatives
- A dynamic PtX calculation tool
- PtX market potential for South Africa
- Project and stakeholder database
- PtX supply and value chains description and analysis in South Africa (study, PDF)
- PtX business opportunities in South Africa
- Job potential analysis along the PtX value chains in South Africa
- Successful dissemination and capacity building
- Comprehensive knowledge products for decision makers
