MDB ÖZUGUZ AND SENATOR OF FINANCE DR. DRESSEL PAY A VISIT TO GFA

Member of the German Bundestag (Federal Parliament), Aydan Özuguz, and Senator of Finance of the Hamburg Bürgerschaft (Parliament), Dr. Andreas Dressel, visited GFA headquarters on the outskirts of Hamburg on 10 July, 2020. Ms. Özuguz and Dr. Dressel invested two hours to gain a comprehensive overview of the company’s work. In a meeting with GFA management and staff they discussed the effectiveness of digital impact assessment in development cooperation and current pandemic prevention measures in GFA projects. Ms. Özuguz, who is a member of the committees for foreign affairs and for human rights and humanitarian aid, showed a major interest in the company’s work in Afghanistan and in refugee relief in Turkey. GFA was able to present its competencies as an efficient, reliable and technically experienced service provider for German public clients. Ms. Özuguz and Dr. Dressel also asked about the impact of the Corona crisis on GFA’s economic situation. Even though GFA is a large enterprise, it is struggling with a loss of revenues. But the company views this challenge as an enormous chance to invest in targeted digital innovations and future-oriented climate and energy issues.
