Matchmaking event of Albanian Agribusiness Support Facility project

In a series of matchmaking events, GFA brought together Albanian agribusinesses and financial institutions. The city of Fier, one of the Albanian regions with a high concentration of dairy and meat production, was the second station of countrywide matchmaking events organized by the Albanian Agribusiness Support Facility (AASF) on 17 May, 2019. AASF is a financing program funded by EBRD and the Government of Albania, and has been implemented by GFA Consulting Group since 2017.

The events aimed at fostering cooperation between Albanian financial institutions and agribusinesses towards sustainable growth of the agricultural sector and easier access to finance. Aside from direct contact to banks, agribusinesses were informed about technical advisory services they can access and innovative technologies related to dairy and meat processing value chains. Local producers used the opportunity to present their products and get into touch with banks. Financial Institutions, smaller producers and bigger local companies such as Lufra, Erzeni and Agri Zo expressed high interest in the event.
By 2020, the project is to increase lending to the agribusiness sector through business advice and knowhow by combining funding and risk-sharing support to Participating Financial Institutions.

More information on the project is available at AASF, GFAprojects or AASF on LinkedIn.
