As of 2017, GFA has implemented the project TRANSFORMASI - Transforming Administration – Strengthening Innovation -, on behalf of GIZ in Indonesia. After the COVID-19 outbreak, GFA received additional funding from BMZ to support responses to the pandemic itself and to help coping with the immediate effects of the dramatic economic slow-down. One series from the current GFA activities is the wide dissemination of public service and civil society innovations forwarded by the Ministry of State Administration and Bureaucratic Reformation’s COVID-19 Award’s Program 2020 via Radio Talk Shows.

The one hour long, live and interactive Radio Talk Shows began during September 2020 and directly reach out to all listeners across 34 Indonesian provinces, from Aceh to Papua. These Talk Shows are broadcast to more than 100 local radio stations during the prime time slots and all of the shows are also recorded and then made available as podcast episodes thereafter. The sessions that are initially prepared with the GFA project team stir up lively debates amongst interested listeners. One example involves students who are discussing different alternatives for virtual teaching and the limitations for the inclusivity of disadvantaged students. The Radio Talk Shows will be implemented up until the end of October 2020 and are all available on YouTube in Bahasa language.
