A high-level Senegalese delegation visited the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce to hold a roundtable discussion on economic cooperation. GFA Consulting Group joined the exchange to present its involve-ment in vocational training and its Regional Hub in Senegal.
The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung organised this high-level delegation from Senegal, organised by to visit the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce for an exchange on public-private partnerships and regional development. The delegation included members of the Senegalese National Assembly, the Mayor of Dakar, Abass Fall, and the Mayor of Com-mune de Golf Sud, Khadidiatou Mahecor Diouf, as well as senior representatives from public administration, devel-opment institutions and business associations.
GFA was represented by Maren Kröger, Senior Consultant for Private Sector, Skills & Employment, who joined the roundtable alongside partners from the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce's Africa Regional Group, B.T. Innovation and Impacc. The discussion covered topics ranging from the role of the Senegalese diaspora in driving investment, to promising sectors such as renewable energy, tech-enabled agriculture and health, as well as port expansion.
Maren Kröger presented GFA's Regional Hub in Senegal, which GFA has been developing since last year in order to be closer to its clients and projects. She also introduced GFA's ReFoP programme, which is implemented on behalf of GIZ to introduce a dual-like approach to vocational training in Senegal – a topic that sparked particular interest among the delegates.
"The Mayor of Dakar asked in great detail about our ReFoP programme and its partner schools in the city. It was encouraging to see how much appetite there is at the municipal level for dual vocational training approaches," said Maren Kröger.
