SPECIAL NEWSLETTER ON OCCASION OF THE HAMBURG SUSTAINABILITY CONFERENCE: “SUSTAINABILITY IN A TIME OF CRISIS – A CORE ELEMENT OF GFA WORK”

Posted on 10 Oct, 2024 by Christoph Rasch

The first Hamburg Sustainability Conference (HSC) took place in Hamburg on 7 and 8 October. The conference brought together politics, science and business as well as civil society and international organizations to develop solutions for the challenges of our time. Around 160 participants from 102 countries discussed a wide range of issues in more than 60 sessions: from sustainable hydrogen supply chains for global shipping, to fair raw material relations for battery production, to an international financial architecture that is fair for all.

Representatives of the GFA Group were also at the conference: for bilateral exchanges with experts and decision-makers - and, represented by a colleague from our sister company HEAT International, with a "solution pitch" in the official conference program.

In our special newsletter, we also report on some examples from GFA's departments and projects that address some of the conference's core themes, such as sustainable urban development, public finance management and our commitment to the SPAR6C initiative, which supports selected countries in creating partnerships and frameworks for their individual climate goals. GFA Consulting Group's Sustainability Manager also talks about how sustainability is reflected in GFA - and the opportunities and challenges she sees.
