STUDIES PUBLISHED ON CLIMATE PROTECTION AND ADAPTATION IN AGRICULTURE

Posted on 7 May, 2020 by Alexander Perdoni

To what extent can agriculture contribute to climate protection? How can agriculture adapt to climate change? These questions were addressed in studies the proceedings of which have been published in April 2020 by GFA together with the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) and other project partners as part of the Ministry’s Bilateral Cooperation Program.

The studies aimed at the mentioned questions and analyzed how Germany and selected BMEL partner countries can mainstream climate-related issues in agricultural policies.
The results illustrate how climate adaptation and climate protection can be dealt with more effectively and on a scientific basis in future BMEL bilateral projects.

Moreover, on 8-9 May, 2019 a conference with various agricultural policy dialogue projects was held in Potsdam, Germany. Background information and results of this event were recorded in a brochure (PDF) and can also be found on the same BMEL website.
