In September 2019, GFA has been awarded the contract for the implementation of the Procurement of Implementer for Pilot Incentives for Energy Efficiency (PIEE) funded by Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) and implemented by the Millennium Foundation Kosovo (MFK) as implementing entity. The overall volume of the technical assistance project implemented by GFA as lead company and its partner HPC International is worth USD 4.4 million. It is officially operating under the brand name SEEK – Subsidies for Energy Efficiency in Kosovo.

The project will last for 24 months and will provide pilot incentives to energy consumers in both households and apartment buildings, to invest in energy efficiency retrofits aimed at reducing electricity and energy consumption. In addition, SEEK will support and increase the involvement of women in the energy sector and provide incentives for investments in energy efficiency by women energy entrepreneurs.

SEEK is part of the Reliable Energy Landscape Project (RELP) implemented by MFK that has the overarching objective to reduce the gap between energy demand and supply by lowering energy consumption through piloting household investments in energy efficiency, switching to cost‐effective non‐electricity sources of heating, and reducing barriers for independent power producers (IPP) to enter the market.
