On 31 December 2019 our component of the GIZ-financed Labour Market Access Project (LMAP) in Egypt came to an end after four and a half years of very successful and fruitful implementation. We are proud to declare that 13,500 people (from which were 7,010 female) experienced improved job quality through our intervention. Our activities focused on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the blue-collar sector and included awareness-raising on job quality aspects (1,172 SMEs), consulting supported by innovative digital solutions (381 SMEs), and an idea competition for job quality improvement projects (30 SMEs). We further supported the conclusion of six cooperation agreements between FEDA and service providers in job quality related fields.

Our thanks goes to GFA’s outstanding Egyptian team led by Maha El Moaz, our partner organization FEDA (Federation for Economic Development Associations) directed by Mohamed Soliman and last but not least to the GIZ LMAP Team, led by Khaled Karara who has been extremely supportive and cooperative at all times.
