WEBINAR ON APPROACHES FOR THE EVALUATION OF ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES

FAO together with the WWF Landscape financing lab organized a French webinar on approaches for the evaluation of environmental services. The webinar took place on Monday, 15 June. GFA was invited to contribute some practical examples from GFA’s work on REDD+ funds in Indonesia, (KfW funded ForClime), as well as in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, (FCPF funded Mai N’Dombe ER Program). The discussion centred around the evaluation/monetarization of environmental services and how PES schemes may be designed to serve a dual objective of achieving emission reductions while maximizing sustainable development impact for local communities and biodiversity.
