Drought resilience in northern Kenya

The county governments in Turkana and Marsabit work to improve the framework conditions for enhanced drought resilience in consultation with other relevant stakeholders.
The project works to achieve the following objectives:

  • Capacities of county authorities for policy domestication and programme development for drought resilience are enhanced; consultation processes with non-state stakeholders are set up;
  • relevant county authorities are enabled to develop holistic approaches to improve drought resilience in selected agrarian ecosystems together with base organizations, NGOs and the private sector;
  • capacities of county authorities for evidence-based planning, knowledge management and resource allocation for drought resilience are strengthened.
