Fishery surveillance, Phase V

Mauritania
KfW, 2016 - 2025
Contract value: 4,650,727 EUR

GFA has been supporting the management of fishery resources in Mauritania since 2003, with a focus on improving coastal fisheries monitoring and coastal surveillance. We provide technical, organizational and human resources support to our partners in their mission to monitor and control Mauritanian and international fishing vessels through the installation of a satellite-based surveillance system and the parallel installation of a radar-based and physical control system. The local administration and the local population will cooperate in the monitoring of the park, as it plays a central role as a breeding and growth habitat for the conservation of Mauritanias coastal fishery resources.
