Senegal
Enabel, 2025 - 2028
Contract value: 72,730 EUR

On behalf of Enabel, the Belgian development agency, GFA Consulting Group is implementing a 36-month capacity development project to strengthen the managerial, technical and financial capacities of ten small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) operating in the agri-food sector in Senegal. The intervention forms part of Enabel’s broader support programme for agri-food transformation in the country.

The project aims to enhance the professionalisation, competitiveness and market integration of local processors. To this end, it applies a structured and practice-oriented capacity-building approach combining in-depth diagnostics, targeted training modules and continuous coaching. The intervention focuses on improving production techniques, compliance with quality and hygiene standards, sound business management, marketing strategies and access to finance.

GFA Consulting Group delivers the assignment through a comprehensive support process comprising: (i) diagnostic visits to assess the technical, organisational and financial situation of each SME; (ii) four tailored training modules covering production, financial management, marketing and access to finance; and (iii) regular on-site coaching provided by local coaches under the supervision of senior experts. The project further promotes best practices in energy efficiency, food safety and business formalisation, while facilitating improved access to appropriate packaging, labelling and certification solutions.

GFA’s services include overall project management and coordination, capacity building and technical training, business diagnostics and coaching of SMEs, advisory support on quality standards and access to finance, as well as monitoring, reporting and knowledge capitalisation.
