Weather and climate Information services (WISER) - thematic evaluation across three regions

The project entailed a thematic evaluation of the Weather and Climate Information Services (WISER) initiative across three regions - MENA, Africa, and Indo-Pacific. Funded by the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), it examined the sustainability and effectiveness of co-produced weather and climate services in fragile and conflict-affected states. Key goals encompassed assessing approaches to inform decision-making, fostering resilience to climate change, and enhancing gender-sensitive programming. The evaluation informed three new regional programmes - PHENOMENAL, ARCAN, and CARA - while integrating evidence-based lessons to optimise sustainability, impact, and value for money.
