As General Agent of the Bilateral Cooperation Programme, GFA provides the Ministry with expertise on strategy, content and innovative methods, develops projects, contracts implementing agencies for projects in Eastern Europe, Asia, Africa and South America, monitors and controls ongoing projects, administers the programme Budget and cooperates with project partners (public and private sector, NGOs).

General Agent for the International Sustainable Forest Management Programme of the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL)

Our objectives are: Sustainable forest management comprising all three dimensions, tropical forest management systems, forest cooperations and timber marketingassociations, timber tracking systems / reduction of illegal logging, conversion of established monocultures towards mixed broadleaf plantations and comprehensive BMEL development objectives such as poverty alleviation and food security.

Coordination Office of the German Energy Solutions Initiative, Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action

GFA provides the team of the Coordination Office of the German Energy Solutions Initiative. The initiative is coordinated and financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action(BMWK), focuses primarily on German SMEs and targets all markets worldwide. As an instrument of the German export promotion policy, it facilitates business partnerships between German and foreign companies in the field of renewables, energy efficiency technologies, smart grids and storage technologies through these tools:

  • Fact-finding missions for foreign decision-makers to Germany
  • Market information and consulting (information events, webinars, market studies)
  • Networking and business opportunities (trade missions to various target markets, financing consulting, promotion of consortium formations)
  • Marketing support (participation at foreign trade fairs, online catalog of German companies, Renewable Energy Solutions Program (RES) for reference projects in target markets)
  • Project Development Program (PDP) in developing and emerging countries

The Coordination Office is responsible for the operation of the initiative and supports the BMWK administratively, technically and conceptually in planning, implementation, quality management and monitoring as well as in the development of the business promotion activities. The team is also the primary contact for companies, partners of the initiative such as German associations in the field of renewables and energy efficiency, regional energy agencies and consultants.
