Team leader on TV fighting Covid-19 in Senegal
In Senegal, too, authorities are preparing against the spread of Covid-19. The Technical Vocational Education program GFA that is implementing on behalf of GIZ, currently trains multipliers in health authorities and administrations on awareness campaigns. Subsequently, trained staff visit companies that have public business to inform about the virus, potential paths of infection and appropriate protective measures. Health authorities conduct educational talks and mainly distribute disinfectants and face masks to affected companies. In an interview with Thies24.com, a district mayor explained measures taken by the authorities in general. GIZ project team leader Günter Diewald described the procedure in more detail. The interview was first broadcast on regional television, and later repeated nationwide. The feedback on the program was so positive that the measures will be expanded.
