Training workshop in Lagos for the SLIPTA program

On 25 November Dr Solanke (West African Health Organization, WAHO, Focal Point for Nigeria), Mr Teferi Mekonen (African Society for Laboratory in Medicine) and Dr Olivier Manigart (GFA Consulting Group) under the orchestration of Dr Abdourahmane Sow (WAHO Professional Officer for Laboratories) launched the “Training Workshop for Laboratory Quality Managers on Mentoring Skills Development for the implementation of the SLIPTA* Program” in Lagos, Nigeria.

The main objectives of this workshop were to train medical laboratory professionals in mentoring and coaching techniques and methods; to provide participants with knowledge and skills on the requirements of ISO standards (ISO15189:2012 and ISO 9001:2015), to develop mentoring and coaching skills, and to strengthen national and regional capacities to improve medical laboratory quality systems. The workshop lasted until 29 November.
