Contract value: 6,522,605 EUR

The module objective of this project was to improve the nutritional situation of people at risk of malnutrition, especially women of reproductive age and infants in selected prefectures of the Maritime, Kara and Plateaux regions in Togo. The project  worked in close cooperation with the Togolese Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Health and its Nutrition Division. The main implementing partners were the service providers at regional and municipal level in the agriculture and health sectors. In a multisectoral approach measures were implemented in four fields of action:

  1. Improving knowledge of mother-child nutrition, basic hygiene and nutritionally sensitive agricultural extension,
  2. raising awareness and improving the target groups knowledge in the field of nutrition and basic hygiene,
  3. increasing the year-round availability of high quality food, and
  4. strengthening nutrition governance by embedding successful approaches at national level.
