Nutrition expert for West and Central Africa
Capacity for Nutrition (C4N) is a component of the SEWOH-funded program “Knowledge for Nutrition” (K4N). It aims to provide support to the EC and to EU Delegations (EUDs) to build nutrition-related programs and policies increasingly on evidence-based approaches and strategies. Thereby, C4N contributes to the overall objective to enhance maternal and child nutrition in line with the commitments and strategic priorities of the EC and SDGs, specifically SDG 2.2, to end all forms of malnutrition by 2030.
The specific objective of C4N is to enhance capacities, governance and accountability for evidence-based and inclusive nutrition policy response in priority countries, regions and global institutions. It has three main outputs:
1. Capacity development: strengthened capacities for nutrition programming and policy response.
2. Governance and Accountability: enhanced nutrition governance and accountability.
3. Knowledge base and policy uptake: increased uptake of improved quality data and analysis for developing and implementing effective nutrition-relevant policies.
The C4N Programme Component combines technical assistance as the major mode of delivery with financial support to selected innovative initiatives. It acts globally, focusing on the 42 EC nutrition priority countries.
