Institutional setting
A Strategic Plan of the Agency for Real Estate Cadastre has been created, covering the period 2011-2015. The NSDI Strategy is in its finalizing stage. Amendments and addenda have been made to the Law on Real Estate Cadastre (Official Gazette of RM, N° 40/2008, 158/2010, 17/2011, 51/2011). A letter was sent out to the authorities (Agency for Real Estate Cadastre, Ministry of Transport and Communications, Ministry for Environment and Physical Planning, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Justice, Ministry for Local Self-Government, Ministry for Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy, Central Registry of the Republic of Macedonia (RM) and the Association of Local Self-Government Units to nominate new members for the Advisory Committee for Land Policy. The nominations that came in were sent to the Government of RM, so the decision can be made about the new composition of the committee. Land administration
The following amendments to laws have beeb made recently:
- Amendments to the Law on Real Estate Cadastre (Official Gazette of RM No 158/2010; 17/2011 and 51/2011).
- Amendments to the Law on Agricultural Land (Official Gazette of RM No 148/2011). New amendments are being drafted.
- Amendments to the Law on Construction Land (Official Gazette of RM No 53/2011). New amendments are being drafted.
- Amendments to the Law on Expropriation (Official Gazette of RM No 6/2012).
- Amendments to the Law on Acting with Illegally Built Buildings.
- Enactment of the Law on Underground and Aboveground infrastructural buildings with their adjoining installations (Official Gazette of RM No 6/2012).
Spatial data infrastructure (SDI) The Government of the Netherlands has provided a EUR 200.000,00 donation for the Project titled ‘Support in the Preparation of an NSDI strategy’ which started at the end of 2010 and will be finalized in the first half of 2012.

- Developing a Spatial Data Model and Standards for AREC, a current project that has the goal of preparing a Model for AREC’s geospatial data, in accordance with the European INSPIRE Directive, which will be used to publish data
Expectations of the Beneficiary
- The Draft NSDI legislation that includes the INSPIRE Directive should be transformed into final version, which would help achieve harmonization with the European Regulations
