Relevant other projects
 
Relevant projects are described in paragraph 1.5. Related programmes and other donor activities in the questionnaire (partly modified text from the Project ToR). The most important ongoing projects related to NSDI are:
  • Twinning Project with the Kingdom of Norway: "Geographic information for development and EU integration"; Objective: Well organized NSDI and a functioning Geoportal in accordance with the Inspire directive. Project period: 2011 – 2012 Total project cost: EUR 370 000.
  • IGIS project (The Infoterra Geo-Information Solution) with the Republic of France
  • World Bank loan: Real Estate Cadastre and Registration Project; period is extended to: 25.05.2004 – 31.03.2012.
Expectations of the Beneficiary
 
INSPIRATION project is very important support for SDI establishment in the region in line with INSPIRE directive. Expected results of the project are:
  • Significant improvement of experience and knowledge exchange between beneficial counties;
  • Better understanding of INSPIRE objectives and process of implementation;
  • Fundamental legal framework is established in involved countries;
  • Raising awareness of NSDI benefits among public authorities, businesses and citizens;
  • INSPIRE oriented and balanced SDI development in the region.
Additional comment: A similar project regarding development of technical framework will be significant contribution to complete picture how to meet INSPIRE requirements.
 
Further relevant institutions

At this moment it is not quite clear which institutions should be involved in the project. It will be clarified at a later stage of the project.
