EU TVET project in Belize successfully completed

GFA, commissioned by the European Union concluded the BAM TVET Program in Belize after three years. The project introduced the concept of Competency Based Education and Training in Belize (CBET). A CBET Diploma course for TVET teachers and a Leadership and Management Course for school managers were developed together with the University of the West Indies, Trinidad and Tobago Moreover, curricula and training materials were revised in close cooperation with the private sector to ensure a high labour market relevance.
Certain course modules were delivered via Moodle online course, which was well received amongst the target group.

Over the past 1,5 years, 55 TVET teachers and 41 school management staff were trained to effectively apply  the CBT method. The National Training Agency of Trinidad and Tobago (NTATT) trained and certified a total of 47 assessors and auditors under coordination of the project. Now Belize can take the next steps towards an improved vocational training system and a prosperous economic future.
