IT-based M&E tool adapted to the needs of the global project AgriChains

Multi-country
GIZ, 2020 - 2025
Contract value: 214,075 EUR

On behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), GIZ is implementing the global program "Sustainability and Value Added in Agricultural Supply Chains (GP AgriChains)". The projects partner countries are Cameroon, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Uzbekistan, Indonesia, Brazil, Colombia and India. The project is part of the BMZ special initiative "ONE WORLD no Hunger" (SEWOH). It is centrally coordinated by the Steering Unit (SU) based in Bonn. The tasks of the SU include the monitoring of the achievement of objectives based on the defined success indicators as well as the annual reporting to the commissioner (BMZ) and to GIZ. The monitoring and evaluation activities of the countries are coordinated by the SU but executed at country level. The achieved impacts are then centrally aggregated and reported. The monitoring system is complex. Therefore, the GP AgriChains is looking for a tailor made and user-friendly Management Information System that supports the M&E staff at country level and the SU to facilitate monitoring, evaluation and reporting. The overall objective of the consultancy is to conceptualise, develop and introduce a comprehensive and user-friendly web-based Management Information System which supports the project and its implementing partners with effective data collection, verification and analysis. The digital M&E Tool should optimize the work processes at country level as well as in the steering unit.
