Conditional Cash Transfer - Social Protection II
The main objective of GIZ’s Social Protection Programme (SPP) in Indonesia was to strengthen the framework conditions for the development of an integrated social protection system. The program component implemented by GFA focused on technical support to the Ministry of Social Affairs related to social assistance, including a conditional cash transfer program. GFA supported partners in analyzing, piloting and implementing single window services for social protection in selected districts. This established and endorsed a more rational, effective and efficient institutional set-up for the Ministry’s social assistance programs. The GFA team facilitated the political process to reform the Indonesian social assistance landscape towards an effective, comprehensive and financially sustainable framework. This included the move from political, charity-based social assistance programs to legally enshrined entitlements to benefits.
