Gender-responsive digital transformation (DTEG)

Ghana
GIZ, 2024 - 2025
Contract value: 81,477 EUR

The project Digital Transformation for Inclusive Entrepreneurship in Ghana (DTEG) aims to improve the economic situation of informal women micro-entrepreneurs through gender-responsive digital services. The project is being implemented by GIZ in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance and was commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) at the beginning of 2023. The project’s primary target group comprises peri-urban and rural informal entrepreneurs, particularly women, with the overarching goal of improving their economic situation by enhancing their access to and use of digital technologies. This aligns with the broader objective of fostering sustainable and inclusive economic development within Ghana’s private sector, particularly among micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).

Against this background, the objective of the assignment is to support the advancement of gender equality and promote the adoption of gender-responsive approaches among project stakeholders and partners. Key objectives include the development of comprehensive gender-responsive toolkits and the establishment of multi-stakeholder networks. These initiatives are intended to deepen understanding of gender dynamics, facilitate the integration of gender perspectives into various activities, and strengthen the capacity of organisations to implement gender-responsive practices.
