Sustainable agriculture and rural development (PAD-II)

Tunisia
GIZ, 2017 - 2019
Contract value: 98,212 EUR

The project objective is to increase the attractiveness of the agricultural sector and to improve employment prospects for young people as service providers of innovative, necessary and affordable ICT- based services in rural areas. GFA provides technical support for the implementation of the component „Agripreneurs 2.0“, in particular the promotion and creation of innovative ICT start-ups in the agriculture and food sector. Young people are mobilized by means of an image and awareness campaign. A series of workshops will link the development and implementation of ICT start-up ideas with specific, continuous coaching. The best start-up ideas enter a competition and funding will be provided for their implementation.

In the course of this project, GFA researches and compiles ICT4Ag best practices for the campaign for 10,000 young people. GFA also develops didactic ICT4Ag teaching material for the Tunisian context and provides technical support in integrating ICT4Ag into ideation workshops with the target audience. Our team trains and continuously supports 50 coaches on ICT4Ag and contributes the ICT part of the guidebook "Agripreneur 2.0" for the Tunisian context.
