Rural Development Support Programme (PADER)
The Rural Development Support Program (PADER) aims to improve the economic performance of producers as well as micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in the agropastoral sector in Cameroon’s cotton-producing regions. It promotes agroecological and climate-adaptive practices to ensure sustainable development. GFA implemented phase 1 from 2021–2024 (co-financed by the European Union), and implements now phase 2 from 2025–2027 (ongoing).
The programme is structured around five strategic pillars, integrating its key components:
- Land tenure security and sustainable land and conflict management
- Access to financing and services
- Sustainable productivity and climate-smart agriculture
- Institutional dialogue and support for the cotton sector
- Vocational training and capacity building
