EU-GCC Cooperation on Green Transition and De-Carbonisation
The GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) countries are under increasing pressure to take action on climate change and to transition to a more sustainable and green economy. The European Commission has an opportunity to work with the GCC in this transition by establishing an EU-GCC Cooperation on Green Transition and De-Carbonization project. The project will be called the EU-GCC Green Transition and De-Carbonization Network (GTN). The main objectives of this project are to deepen the engagement and exchange between the EU and the GCC, to promote the uptake of green transition policies and technologies, and to create a favourable business environment for EU green technology companies in the Gulf region. The project aims to mobilize GCC countries towards more ambitious climate, energy and environmental policies and to facilitate EU-GCC cooperation in areas such as renewable energy, energy efficiency, decarbonization and sustainable resource management. The project will encourage and support the EU and GCC countries in their transition towards a greener future by fostering cooperation between different stakeholders such as governments, business, finance and academia.
GFA implements this project together with HEAT International (lead), a company of GFA GROUP.
