Economic participation of internally displaced people and host communities in West Cameroon
The project is committed to increasing economic opportunities for women through a series of inclusive initiatives. Through its activities, the project aims not only to support women, but also to contribute to overall economic stability and inclusion in the region. To achieve this, GFA implemented specialised training programmes that equip women with the skills required to initiate income-generating activities. A strong emphasis was placed on supporting women’s cooperatives and groups to ensure that the project’s approach remained inclusive and empowering.
The project team also worked in close partnership with local organisations and provided training to help them adopt inclusive practices in their operations. Recognising the severe impact of conflict-related trauma, the project also focused on delivering psychosocial support to beneficiaries, supporting them in coming to terms with their experiences and in gaining economic independence. This multifaceted approach ensured that women in these communities received the comprehensive support and resources they need to thrive and contribute meaningfully to their local economies.
