Safe spaces for coexistence for youth in El Salvador (CONVIVIR)

The objective of the program is to promote the active participation of young people in the revitalization and sustainable use of the safe spaces of selected communities in prioritized municipalities. In this way, it is intended to contribute to the improvement of the peaceful coexistence and the social, political and economic integration of young people in El Salvador. The target group of the program are young men and women aged between 14 and 25 years who live in marginalized communities with high levels of violence and are therefore particularly exposed to violence and crime. Program measures include:

  1. Building, upgrading, and equipping social infrastructure and public spaces for young people,
  2. financing measures for work and training of young people,
  3. training staff of the involved institutions, selected municipalities, communities, and
  4. consulting services to support the institutions involved in the implementation and monitoring of the program.
