Strengthening social entrepreneurship for migration and development
GFA implemented the inception phase of “The Social Entrepreneurship for Migration and Development” project, which is part of the regional program “Decent Work in the Middle East” funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) as part of its “Global Program Migration and Development (GPMD)”.
The project considered the following outcomes as relevant for this project initiative on migration & development:
- Key stakeholders contribute to creating and enhancing an entrepreneurial ecosystem for migration & development at national and regional levels.
- There is an increase in sustainability of migration & development solutions through the adoption of a market-based approach.
- Entrepreneurs develop, sustainably implement, and potentially scale their migration & development solutions on national, regional and cross-regional levels.
The project therefore sought to collaborate with different social entrepreneurship support structures (SESTs) in Egypt, Jordan and Lebanon to address challenges of migrants and refugees and enhance the benefits of migration.
