Energy efficiency upgrades of centralised water supply and sanitation systems

The project, commissioned by UNICEF Ukraine, focuses on carrying out a technical assessment and developing a national implementation plan to enable rapid energy-efficiency upgrades in centralised water supply and sanitation systems across Ukraine. The initiative addresses the urgent needs of water utilities (vodokanals) that are operating under severe infrastructure damage and escalating energy costs caused by the ongoing war. Its objective is to identify quick-win, high-impact measures that reduce energy consumption, improve service reliability, and strengthen the financial sustainability of water utilities.
