Wastewater collection and treatment Zenica
The Project concerns the environmentally sound and hygienic disposal of municipal wastewater of Zenica at affordable costs. The purpose of the project is to ensure the collection, transmission and treatment of municipal wastewater in the City of Zenica. The project is divided into two parts:
- Implementation measures (design, construction supervision, operational support) implemented by the p2m and IDOM.
- Accompanying measures (support to the water utility of Zenica to train the personnel and operate the new system) implemented by GFA.
The Public Utility Company “Vodovod i kanalizacija” ViK Zenica, established in 1989 is responsible for the public water supply and sanitation system in the City of Zenica. The majority of today’s sewerage system of the City of Zenica was constructed in the 1980s and requires urgent reconstruction. During the reconstruction of the old sewerage system, construction of the new parts and wastewater treatment plant, GFA is working with the public water utility and enhancing their skills to operate and maintain the new sewerage system.
