Financing energy for low-carbon investment – cities advisory facility
This project is part of the Eastern Partnership and Central Asia Program (FELICITY II), which further emphasizes its regional significance and alignment with broader initiatives aimed at enhancing urban infrastructure and environmental sustainability. The assignments goal is to help project promoters in Ukraine enhance their low-carbon, climate-resilient urban infrastructure projects in the water and wastewater sector, preparing them for funding. These promoters include municipal or state-owned water utilities, with smaller municipalities sometimes represented by their administrations. Key objectives are to prepare project proposals, support capacity development, and document lessons learned. The project aims to boost energy efficiency awareness among policymakers in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. In Ukraine, the focus is on improving water services, security, reducing environmental pollution, and lowering GHG emissions, all critical for meeting EU standards. The project will also support the creation of a Project Management Support Unit (PMSU) to manage the EIB investment program.
