German-French cooperation project water and wastewater
This project aimed at enhancing water infrastructure in Lebanon with a focus on improving the drinking water supply in the North Lebanon and Akkar regions. It included assessing the Project Executing Agency (NLWE), analysing peace and conflict contexts, and identifying target groups and project-affected people to ensure sustainable development. Key components involved capacity-building, infrastructure rehabilitation, gender-sensitive approaches, and risk management to address service gaps and promote social cohesion. The initiative emphasised conflict-sensitive design, environmental sustainability, and effective stakeholder engagement to ensure successful implementation and long-term impact.
