Provision of municipal infrastructure
The study focused on a Peace and Conflict Analysis (PCA) and Target Group/Project-Affected People (ATG-PAP) analysis for the planned Provision of Municipal Infrastructure project in Iraq’s Al-Muthanna governorate. The project aimed at improving drinking water infrastructure, benefiting ~120,000 people in Al-Khidir and Daraji districts. It included constructing a water treatment plant, consulting for construction and capacity building, and possibly introducing water tariffs via an awareness campaign. The PCA and ATG-PAP studies assessed social, ethnic, and political dynamics, public perception of water, and willingness to pay tariffs. The project supported peacebuilding and gender equality as secondary goals.
