Global Energy Transformation Program (GET.transform)
GET.transform, implemented by GIZ, is funded by Germany, Sweden, and Austria. The program module of GET.transform focuses on providing public policy advice and cutting-edge technical advisory services to public actors for governing their energy transitions and creating the necessary environment for decentralised renewable energy investments. GFA supports GET.transform in successfully implementing concrete measures in the areas of decentralized renewable energy, focusing on mini-grid development - rural electrification planning, mini-grids, productive use of electricity and standalone systems.
GFA contributes to the achievement of the GET.transform project outputs within specific work packages and provides in-depth knowledge and expertise in the form of STE assignments. STE assignments are organized on a short-term basis according to the needs of GET.transform and its project partners.
The five work packages are:
- Rural electrification planning and data management
- Development of legal and policy framework for mini-grids
- Off-grid systems (solar home systems, solar lanterns, pico-hydro)
- Systematic planning for productive use of electricity
- Impact evaluation including baseline studies
