REEEP II - Solar rooftop

Under the technical cooperation by GIZ to the Bangladesh government in clean energy promotion, GIZ implements the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Programme II (REEEP II) through two fields of activities. The current project inplemented by GFA undertakes the third field of activity: to provide technical assistance to the government of Bangladesh on implemlenting a solar roof-top program under the net-metering guideline. The key activities of the project involve:

• Implementation of sector wide capacity needs assessment
• Estbalishment of a Solar Service Desk (SSD) at SREDA including developing standards, guideline for equipment and installation of roof-top solar PV system
• Setting up an online web portal for a solar e-desk
• Providing monitoring and evaluation (M&E) support for the SSD/portal
• Implement pilot roof-top projects
• Conduct awareness campaign
• Conduct training and capacity development of identified stakeholders
• Conduct regional exchanges for lessons learnt and best practices in the dissemination of solar net-metering
