Monitoring Agent Services for COVAX rollout
Mozambique and other countries participate in the COVAX Facility, which pools the purchasing power of participating countries and provides rapid access to doses of safe and effective vaccines once they receive regulatory approval. Gavi coordinates the development and implementation of the COVAX Facility as well as the COVAX Advance Market Commitment (AMC), which is a financing instrument supporting the COVAX Facility. The monitoring agent (MA) services will support Gavi with providing independent assurance on the adequacy of systems in place for the delivery of the COVID-19 vaccines through the COVAX Facility in Mozambique. The consultant will essentially serve as the eyes and ears of Gavi regarding what is happening on the ground. The consultant is requested to assist the Ministry of Health with providing independent assurance over compliance with the National Deployment Vaccination Plan (NDVP) and to assist with improving the delivery of the COVID-19 vaccine through better mitigation against programmatic, supply chain, and fiduciary risks. The objective is to not only to detect and highlight issues but to provide valuable input for improving the rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine in Mozambique.
