Nepal Trade and Private Sector Development Program (TPSD)
The overall objective of the project was to contribute to the Government of Nepal’s efforts to reduce poverty and stimulate trade-led economic growth by strengthening trade competitiveness in Nepal. The project team concentrated on three components:
- Trade policy development and capacity building: Enhancing the capacity of the Ministry of Commerce and Supplies (MoCS) and related agencies for the formulation, implementation and coordination of trade policy, trade negotiations and trade promotion
- Quality infrastructure development: Strengthening the system of quality infrastructure, particularly the institutional capacity for sanitary and phytosanitary and technical barriers to trade
- Value vhain development: Supporting value chain development with a specific focus on coffee
